My Rating: 4.5/5 stars

My Review:

Wow! Jamie Grey has created a completely unique science fiction novel.  The reader was once again drawn into Renna’s world. Although I enjoyed the first book this sequel was ten times better. Despite the fact this novel is written in third person it was easy to become attached to the characters. Particularly Renna as she was feisty and easy to relate to. Sometimes I find it hard to keep up with what’s going on in these kind of books but I had no problem with this one. From the very beginning the readers attention is grabbed and they find themselves desperate to find out what will happen next. The author leaves her readers on the edge of there seats and leaves them wanting more. This novel is jammed full of action, drama, romance and adventure.

Overall this was a brilliant sequel full of action and romance. I can’t wait to read more of Jamie Grey’s books as I enjoyed this series very much. I would recommend anyone looking for something a bit different to read to give this series a try.

My Review:

This fast paced novel pulls the reader in and leaves them wanting more. Lee Murray draws the reader in using her original plot and likeable characters. Although I thoroughly enjoyed this book there is still one unanswered question, what happened to Adam’s mum? At a few points in the book I thought we were getting closer as new information was discovered but nothing ever developed into finding his mum. ‘Misplaced’ was purely focused on Adam’s emotions and his life during the months after the disappearance of his mum. By the end of the novel Adam was still no closer to finding his mum and it seemed unlikely she would be found anytime soon. The author left questions unanswered which gave her book a unique aspect. This novel wouldn’t have been as good as it was without the phenomenal plot.

The war is about to begin.

My Review:

I couldn’t put this book down. The mystery and drama in the beginning draw the reader in and leave them wanting more. Sunniva Dee has created a unique and exciting plot which gives paranormal lovers something new to read. Although this is a debut novel she could have been writing for years as she has a brilliant way of grabbing the readers attention. This book was fast paced and kept the reader up late at night desperate to find out what would happen next. Shattering Halos is packed full of drama, romance, mystery and phenomenal characters.

Overall this is one of the best debut novels I have read and I hope the author writes more soon.  I would recommend any readers looking for an unique paranormal romance book try and read this.

Get to know the author:

I write New Adult fiction with a paranormal twist and don’t shy away from romance and heart-wrenching passion when necessary.

I moved from Norway to the United States in 2001, and the first awesome five years I spent in the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles. Then I read “The Book,” aka Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, which spurred my husband and me to move cross country to beautiful Savannah, Georgia.

I’m currently on my seventh year in the Deep South, where I enjoy the heat and the humidity. Besides writing, I spend my time with our “petting zoo” as in an opinionated parrot, a herd of cats that are experts on keyboard shortcuts, and puppies that…uh, bark.

I hold a Master’s degree in languages, with concentrations within literature and linguistics. I taught at college level for a decade before settling in as a graduate adviser at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Writing is my passion, my joy, and my addiction. When I’m not writing, I read.
Shattering Halos is my debut novel, and its standalone sequel, Stargazer, is due out later this year.

My Review:

Jane Lark has did it again, she has written another captivating book that tugs at the readers heart strings. The honesty of this novel straight away grabs the readers attention. This book as many aspects to it the romance being the main one but there is also some political aspects. The author cleverly showed inequality throughout her book which helped the reader easily connect with the characters. Although this novel is part of a series it can be read as a standalone.

Overall I would recommend to anyone who likes contemporary romance to give this book a try. I can’t wait to read Jane Lark’s next novel to see what she does next.

Jane is a writer of authentic, passionate and emotional Historical and New Adult romance and author of a No.1 bestselling Historical Novel,’The Illicit Love of a Courtesan, as well as a Kindle overall Top 25, bestselling author.

She began her first historical novel at sixteen, but a life full of adversity derailed her as she lives with the restrictions of Ankylosing Spondylitis.

When she finally completed a novel it was because she was determined not to reach forty still saying, I want to write.

Now Jane is writing a Regency series as well as contemporary, new adult, stories and she is thrilled to be giving her characters life in others’ imaginations at last.

You might think that Jane was inspired to write by Jane Austen, especially as she lives near Bath in the United Kingdom, but you would be wrong. Jane’s favourite author is Anya Seton, and the book which drew her into the bliss of falling into historical imagination was ‘Katherine’ a story crafted from reality.

Jane has drawn on this inspiration to discover other real-life love stories, reading memoirs and letters to capture elements of the past, and she uses these to create more realistic plots.

‘Basically I love history and I am sucker for a love story. I love the feeling of falling in love; it’s wonderful being able to do it time and time again in fiction.’

College life away from home is perfect until the people she believes to be her friends turn on her. With lies and rumors threatening to suffocate her, Bia turns to her only freedom. Riding.

His thick skin and easy grin don’t hide what Bia already knows—this misunderstood and lonely cowboy fights his own demons. Brushing horses’ coats and mucking out stalls shouldn’t be this sexy, and it isn’t long before he becomes a part of her distraction.

However, escaping won’t solve her problems, and it’s up to Bia to break down the fences around her and prove her strength—not to her family and friends, but to herself … and for Garrett. Because standing on her own doesn’t have to mean standing alone.

My Review:

Amazing! I was not expecting this book to be as good as it was. When I first started this novel I was expecting the normal broken boy meets broken girl plot that although I love reading them they can be cliche at times. However this book had so much more to it. It may have had the classic contemporary romance themes but it was a very unique spin on the normal plot. I may love my contemporary romances but this was a refreshing read that sits proudly on my shelf. The author draws the reader in with her captivating characters and the believable emotions they show throughout the novel.

Overall this was a phenomenal novel which is not your cliche romance. I would highly recommend lovers of contemporary romance go and read this book. I can’t wait to read more from Juliana Haygurt to see what other brilliant books she has written.

Freak. Witch. Crazy. Schizo.

Ember Brycin has been called them all. She’s always known she’s different. No one has ever called her normal, even under the best circumstances. Bizarre and inexplicable things continually happen to her, and having two different colored eyes, strange hair, and an unusual tattoo only contributes to the gossip about her.

When the latest school explosion lands her in a facility for trouble teens, she meets Eli Dragen, who’s hot as hell and darkly mysterious. Their connection is full of passion, danger, and secrets. Secrets that will not only change her life, but what and who she is—leading her down a path she never imagined possible.

Between Light and Dark, Ember finds a world where truth and knowledge are power and no one can be trusted. But her survival depends on finding out the truth about herself. In her pursuit, she is forced between love and destiny and good and evil, even when the differences between them aren’t always clear. At worst, she will incite a war that could destroy both worlds. At best, she will not only lose her heart but her life and everyone she loves. Once the truth is out, however, there will be no going back. And she’ll definitely wish she could.

Title: Fire in the Darkness

Series: Darkness (#2)

Genre: paranormal, romance

Audience: New Adult

Publication Date: 31st August 2013

Blurb:

It’s been four weeks since Ember Brycin witnessed what her powers are capable of. The Electrical Current Storm has turned Seattle, Washington into a natural disaster zone. The death toll is in the thousands with countless others homeless and hungry.

And Ember is the one who caused it. Something she will have to live with every day.

Those people who were unable to escape either turned quickly into gangs or live in shelters. Ember, on the other hand, can’t do either. With a price on her head and a Dark Dweller on her ass, she is constantly on the move. Both Light and Dark are hunting her for their own purpose to use her as a weapon or a pawn in the war between the Unseelie King of the Dark and the Seelie Queen of the Light.

Em needs help but doesn’t know who to trust: Lars, the mystery man Torin told her to find? Torin, the Seelie Queen’s personal knight, who has sworn to keep Em safe? Or Eli, who wants to turn her over to the Unseelie King, but whom she has an undeniable, intense connection with?

No matter what she chooses she will probably lose—her life or everything and everyone she loves.

Now finally onto the book this post is all about 🙂

Title: Dwellers of Darkness

Series: Darkness (#3)

Genre: paranormal, fantasy, romance

Audience: New Adult

Publication Date: 27th February 2014

Blurb:

Some days feel like years, but in Ember Brycin’s case just the opposite is true. She had only been in the Otherworld for a day or two when she returned back to the Earth’s realm. But it is three years later on Earth. Em is now 22. It would matter if she was human, but she’s not. She is a Dae, part Demon and part Fay, with a little Dark Dweller thrown in to make her even more of a freak.

Seeing Seattle rebuilt only confirms she has been gone three years. For her it was not long ago that the Seattle area was just rubble of concrete and death. All done by her hand.

One thing that hasn’t changed, though, is her undeniable connection to Eli Dragen, who is sexy, gorgeous, and even more volatile and frustrating. But her problems go way past him. The Seelie Queen of the Otherworld still holds Mark, Em’s father, and her friends, Ryan, and Josh as hostages. Em needs to rescue them without, once again, getting caught and being used as a pawn to help the Queen regain possession of Earth. At the same time Ember is in hot water with Lars, the Unseelie King, after breaking her contract with him.

As some secrets have come to light others seem to become even more enigmatic. The only truth Ember knows is,everyone is harboring secrets. As Eli’s past is revealed, Em understands more clearly why he acts the way he does and how much their lives are intertwined. But she also knows Eli is holding something back, something that could change their relationship forever.

Em herself continues to wrestle with her feelings toward Torin and her own secret she’s withholding from Kennedy. As the tension for war mounts between the Seelie and Unseelie (Light and Dark), the tension at the Dark Dweller’s compound mounts even more as they prepare to obtain the sword no matter what the price. But is Ember the answer to the location of the sword? Is she the one to fulfill the prophecy? As usual nothing is ever what it seems.

My Review:

Amazing! I am have no words to describe just how brilliant this book is. The Darkness series has been fantastic throughout and this novel did not disappoint. The first two books in the series were also brilliant but Dwellers of Darkness just made the series even better.  If you are going to read this book you will have to read the whole series as the follow on from each other. From the very beginning the reader is drawn in by this novel. As the reader I never wanted this book to end and I found myself up at night desperate to see what would happen next. The reader is left on the edge of their seats with the drama and action filled plot. Stacey Marie Brown has written a phenomenal book packed full of suspense, drama, action and romance. The author has created a unique plot which grabs the readers attention.

Overall I would highly recommend all lovers of paranormal get themselves a copy of this series because it is fantastic. I can’t wait to read the final book in the Darkness series and I hope the author continues to write more breath taking novels.

My Review:

Wow! I am really struggling to find the words to explain just how brilliant this book is. The author has managed to leave many of her readers speechless with this dramatic conclusion to the phenomenal Vortex series. From beginning to end this novel is packed full of drama, suspense, romance and unexpected twist and turns that leave the reader desperate for more. This series has gotten better and better as it has went on and this book is the percent conclusion to a brilliant series. ‘Deuce’ has the reader hooked from the start and keeps them up at night wanting to see what will happen next in this rollercoaster novel. If you are going to read this series you will have to read it in order otherwise it won’t make sense. The reader is draw in by this book and it’s unique plot almost instantly. Janine Caldwell cleverly has a dual perspective in her book which allows the reader to easily connect with both characters. As the reader I thoroughly enjoyed reading Trent’s perspective as well as Cassie’s.  The drama contained in this novel along side the fantastic romance keeps the reader wanting more. With the twist and turns the author had written her readers will be on the edge if their seats.
